I was putting together a list of my top ten concerts of 2010 when the realization hit that my fandom of Brandi Carlile and The Avett Brothers had reached the level of a 10 year old girl’s love of Justin Bieber. So, to get a little variety I’m going to give BCB and TAB their own list.
1. Brandi Carlile @ Neumo’s The “secret show” in her hometown felt more like a meeting of an exclusive private club.
2. Brandi Carlile and The Avett Brothers @ Nokia Theater BCB, TAB, and 3rd row seats!
3. BCB with The Seattle Symphony @ Benaroya Hall We sat next to a nine year old girl who sat through the entire concert on the edge of her seat with saucer sized eyes. I did, too.
4. TAB @ The Mountain Winery The crowd started off neutral so TAB found an extra gear, and by the show’s end the bay area had a 1000 or so new Avett fanatics.
5. BCB @ Border’s 4 songs in front of a crowd of a few dozen. Very cool.
6. TAB @ The House of Blues It takes a great band to overcome the hell that is The House of Blues. TAB is one.
7. BCB @ The Mountain Winery Even average BCB shows are pretty compelling
8. BCB @ The House of Blues See #6 BCB is another.

Matthew & The Atlas | I Will Remain
Yesterday, @david sent me a dm on twitter turning me on to Matthew & The Atlas. And I’m very happy he did that.

Matthew & The Atlas | I Will Remain
Ian Hooper dropped four of Matthew’s tracks to my Spotify inbox and I Will Remain has been stuck on replay for an hour and is the stand-out track from his EP To The North which I just got it from iTunes. Hush hush, go and grab it.
By the way, Matthew releases via Communion Records, Mumford & Sons’ label.
